No, I’m not talking about pictures inlayed into your Colonial columns. :P

When including pictures in your various LJ posts, you might consider taking advantage of one of the newer features Martin added to LJ. Yes, you can link to your pictures in Photobucket or another picture repository, but realize that places like PB and YouTube are sometimes blocked by various firewalls, which translates to some LJ’ers not being able to see them.

Another benefit to copying them over to LJ rather than linking them is that if/when you ever change or remove those pictures on your offsite storage facility, your LJ Project/Blog/Etc. will not be affected. Just a thought folks. :)

This is a great new feature but it also uses a tremendous amount of LJ server resources. Hope everyone uses the feature judiciously.

Here’s a perfect example . An older post, now virtually useless since the pictures have been moved from their original source. Yes it takes more resources, but I believe the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks. I’d have liked to see the original pictures in this old post. Yes, I can contact the original poster, but the whole thing is disconnected.

You can now put pictures directly from your PC ,into Blogs,Forums ,Comments, Projects

On PMs still have to go with photobucket, not a big problem
