Ok – Im in the market to purchase a remote start switch for my 110 volt dust collector. Im asking the Lumberjocks to let me know which one to purchase. Ive been reading that there was one brand that was recalled due to a fire hazzard and think I should get some “expert” help making this purchase – Tell me what to do !!!!!

I use an iSocket from Rockler ( http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=17351 ). I had looked at some others, including those with a remote control, but I ultimately decided against having another doo-dad to keep track of (or lose!).

I have been using this switch for about two years with my 1.5hp collector:

I have had no problems with it at all. I am still using the original battery in the remote. I know that the range is far more than I need. One time I left the remote in the house by mistake when I returned to my shop, which is in our separate barn. Well, my six year-old son likes to push buttons. I jumped several feet when I heard the dust collector roar to life!
