Can someone please give me some info on this saw by Henry Disston? I have a feeling it was pieced together. The top hole does not go all the way through the blade. There is handwriting on the handle. And on the blade it just says D between “steel” and “Warranted” Also the gold medallion is upside down. Handle does have a small piece out of it. Blade is almost 16” long. I am thinking it’s from 1874 but I can’t find one exactly like it. And the fact that it appears to be missing a hole makes me wonder if it was two different saws. I’d like to resell but not sure on pricing.

I bought a Disston saw a year or so ago. I found a website that offers quite a bit of information about them. Sorry but I can’t remember the name. Try doing a search and you’ll be amazed at all the information found on that site.

I checked a couple sites and narrowed the gold emblem to the year but can’t find the exact saw. No where could I find one the was just a “D” series. No numbers behind it.
