Alot of ways to skin that cat my friend. I’ve used Citric acid and plain white vinegar with pretty equal success. I prefer citric acid since you don’t have to neutralize afterwards and you don’t have to use gloves when handling. I bought my Citric acid off of Amazon and a little goes a long way. Mix with warm water since its more effective than cold.

I’ve used evaporust on all my other restores but I’m curious about the electrolysis – whats the cheapest auto battery charger I could use for this? i read somewhere I need a 2-amp, will this work or is there anything cheaper out there?

For real though, I don’t see any fasteners that hold this thing together except for the remains of a cotter pin at the base of the threads and it appears as if it’s been forged in the depths of Mordor…
