Topic tags/keywords: rustic

This ain’t anywhere near fine woodworking so I didn’t wanna put it n the projects section…
Anyway. I’ve been working getting my building all fixed up an the way I want it. Part of it holds my tractor the middle is my shop area an then in one corner I’ve been wanting to make into an area for my hunting equipment

This is what I started with

This is the finished project. I got the lumber from a buddy that I found out owns a sawmill down the road from me (score!!) the lumber is soft maple and ash. All in all it turned out real good and gave the rustic vibe that I was wanting. The shelf with all the antlers makes me happy too

Do you hang the meat from the beam?

Randy – not from the rafters but there is a actual support beam running through the center of the building that I hang deer from

I like the looks of it, but have a question. Is this area isolated from your shop? I’d be concerned about dust accumulation on the guns and mounts.

Dan – Yeah in general dust will be a small problem. My table saw is around 20 foot from the deer heads but I normally move it outside of the building to do much work. other than that ill just wipe them down once in a while or blow the dust off of them ever now an then. Those mounts really are not that great, I have my better ones in my living room and the guns are mainly BB guns or pellet guns (low dollar). There may be a few other in there from time to time but mostly anything of value will be in my safe in the house
