I have a couple Skinner Braces (Made in Sheffield England), one is a 6” and the other is an 8”, that I really don’t have room for in my tool cabinet for them. As you can hopefully see in the photo, they have not been cleaned up much. They work okay with one exception. The wood handle on the 8” is a bit too tight. I live in a semi-arid area where it is dryer than a popcorn phart most of the time. As a result, shortly after I got this drill from an higher humidity area, the wood shrunk a little. I’m guessing that if it was to return to an area with humidity, it would be easier to turn. Or, there could be a spray lube a person could use on it to free it some. Don’t know. Anyway, if someone is interested, I am open to reasonable offers on them.
I’d really like to sell them together to the same person if possible. Buyer would need to pay the shipping as well.
If you are interested in them contact me before May 8, 2017. I’m not out to ‘skin’ anyone (pun intended) but would like to at least get close to what I have in them out of them.

If you would like to get close to what you have into them that means you have a price in mind. It would help if you let us know what price you’re looking for. I have so many braces now that I pass them up at $5 if they aren’t a specific model I’m looking for. That 6” is a nice one though.

Heck, I don’t know. I’d like to see them go to someone that would appreciate them, I know that.

A little more info on the braces…
I had them shipped over from Stourbridge England in the last quarter of 2014. At the time, the braces were advertized at something like £12 each I believe. They are not too easy to find in the US. I may have paid a premium price back then but I got them as part of a larger order so can’t be exact on the price. I haven’t done anything with them, just went up on my tool board. I like them but I need to thin out the herd so-to-speak. I’m sure other woodworkers have eye-candy hanging on their tool boards, things that they enjoy looking at or holding on occasion but rarely if ever gets used. I’m thinking they are worth about $35 for the pair. We’ll see what offers I get. I thought it would be nice to offer them to LJs first.
