For those of you that make comments on 2 to 3, sometimes 6 year old dead threads … why would you do that? Are you just that far behind in reading posts? I’m not trying to start a fracas … just curious … thanks!

I’ve noticed that most of those replys on old threads are from new members who typically ran across them searching for some specific issue they had… and don’t really pay attention to the date of the last post. Sometimes, it can be appropriate… but other times, not so much… Like replying “yes, I have one and love it, you should buy it” to a thread from 5 years prior asking about something found on Craigslist :)

Cheers,
Brad

Some threads never become dead and are viable for almost ever. I can go back to 2007 to get information on the Veritas card scraper burnisher and ask what people think about it today. Or, I could just start a new thread. Either way works.

Well … perhaps it’s just me … I find it maddening!

I guess some threads just never lose their relevancy:

Some of the older ones may still be valid or not time sensitive like Randy pointed out. The ones seeking buying advice on a CL listing from 4 years ago don’t hold too much reason to comment on.

I dunno…comment on the ones you like, pass on the ones you don’t? we all sort of use it in different ways. There will always be some golden oldies drug back out.

How about the one against Scott Phillips and his show? that was is like Rasputin.

Remember the guy who was making it his life’s mission to answer every unanswered thread, even a notice about a meeting that happened 5 years ago.
