I have had that problem often when trying to post from my iPad. I head over to the PC and everything is just fine.

Ads probably. Ads break the site on every mobile browser except Firefox + ublock origin.

Just adding another bit of information to the mix. I have the problem from my iPad while starting out the day with my first (of two) cup of coffee. I can’t say whether or not the issue is worse later in the day, but I have noticed it at about 7:00 AM.

iPads seem to have a lot of problems in general. My wife bought one, paid a lot of money for it. It won’t do anything now except Netflix. Even the browser won’t work.

Install an adblocker for iPhone.

Huge difference.

I use neverads. Works great for me.

The slowness happened again last night and again this morning. I restarted it this morning and helped again.
I’ll try the add blocker
Rick – what kind of iPad did she get u? I got one of the originals and it still surfs pretty good but u can’t download anything since Apple doesn’t update it anymore. So pretty much it’s a computer now that will only use safari

That is positive indication that the problem is on your device… as there isn’t anything being sent over the wire when you are just typing stuff into a dialog box (ie: it is not network or web site related). The ads can have a profound effect though, as they send animated graphics and other crap that will just suck CPU cycles, thus slowing it down. It is much more pronounced on small mobile devices where capacity is more limited than on a real computer. Blocking ads will definitely help.

On older computers, one other trick is to disable graphics… not sure if that is possible on very many mobile browsers though. Stopping other stuff running in the background will also help a lot… most people don’t realize all of the stuff running without them knowing it, and the CPU cycles and network activity they are wasting.

Cheers,
Brad

PS: I also have a iPad mini that we got for free… only thing I use it for is to store pictures and check the weather :)

The software updates they send to iPads are meant to make the old ones slower, motivation to upgrade. Jcamp, it’s an original, the browser is no use at all. Literally nothing works except Netflix, or works so slowly it’s essentially non functional.

I doubt they are deliberately doing it to slow them down… usually it’s just feature bloat. With the newer devices that have more ability, they add all sorts of stuff that isn’t all that noticable on them – but very noticable on the older models with their slower CPU’s, less memory, etc…

Cheers,
Brad

I am using a Samsung Tab S and see no problem even without an add blocker.
My main issue is with Comcast maintaining a connection.
