I am repainted the molding on eight door openings in my home.
I am looking for ways to make sanding easier and have a good result.
I found this using rigid foam insulation to make a custom shape sanding block:

Also saw a similar thing using auto body filler to make a custom block, but this seems like more work / time and I don’t have a scrap piece of molding to work with.

Try some of these. They come in several grits and will form to your molding.
