What way would you guys orient growth rings if having to glue long boards together to make a thicker long board? With each other? Away from each other? I’m trying to achieve 12/4 for some doors for the university and I may have to use laminations of rift sawn oak if I can’t source quarter sawn of the dimension I need.

I’ve alwayse laminated away from each other.
