Topic tags/keywords: question

I am working on finishing my shop. The sheet rock, thanks to my wife’s first husband and my step son, will be finished this weekend.
Now I need to paint it.
I have basically two options ; to roll or to spray ( next year I shall have to pain the outside) the paint.
I am tempted to spray but spaying makes such a mess and I have to buy a sprayer ( cheaper to to rent one).
I have about 2000 sq feet to paint inside and about 3500 outside next year.
What would you do?

Spray buy a cheap little compressor you don’t need a massive dinosaur and a cheap gun. You will find use for them both in the future believe me.Although thinking it over again maybe as I speak you should get a good used one or abetter newer one you don’t need to go wild have fune.I sprayed my whole workshop outside with a compressor and gun in a very few hours and little stress/pain on both my arms.So have fun and good luck Alistair

Alister, I already have a HVLP sprayer but I cannot use it for that.
The sprayer I am thinking about buying is this one: http://www.harborfreight.com/1-2-hp-piston-pump-paint-sprayer.html

bentlyj, ” Rent an airless sprayer.” $22.00/hour, 5 hours minimun,.
I can buy a sprayer for anywhere from $100.00 to 200.00
The HVLP is too small, I would spend my time filling the cup. I want a sprayer which sucks right out of the the 5 gallons pail.

They are really good .You can get a smaller than five gallon which is ok say half a gallon with two rubber hoses you can hook it to your belt and blast away while listening to you ipod or whatever have safe fun.I really don’t think you’ll make a great deal of a mess with it nothing some old sheets wont cover up.Alistair
