A friend gave me one of these.

Mossberg 500 because he got a couple ARs and didn’t have room in his safe for it. :-) I don’t really have a need for it as is, so…......I turned it into a little home defense model. The first shot is a rubber ball, if a second is needed it’s for real!

Nice work on the handles. I like it all except the rubber ball part.

Personally,
If I’m put in a situation where I have to pull out my gun for defense,
there ain’t gunna be no rubber ball coming out the end…...

Thanks guys. Jbay, we have some stupid kids in the area, I really don’t want to kill one of them for getting in my truck or car or breaking into my shed. Like I said though, only the first shot is a rubber ball!

Careful now, you’ve put pistol grips on it and mad it look “Mean and Scary”, it’s now an ASSAULT WEAPON and if any liberals see it they’re going to curl up in a ball and crawl to their safe spaces and call their congressmen to take it away…

LOL,,, nice work, is it walnut?

I dont mean to derail the conversation but i would shy away from the assumption that the first shot is “less lethal” and I would not want to defend myself in court for shooting someone because they were in my car or shed and have the defense of “yes its a 12ga but it was just a rubber ball!”

Cool project, but deadly force is deadly force and a car or shed is not worth the hassle or trauma or tragedy. If someone breaks into your car call the cops if someone comes in your home you’re going to want more than a rubber ball.

All I’d ask is ‘is it legal to modify a gun?’

Yes it is.

Nice work on the grips and stock.

In this day and age, the use of deadly force for anything is complicated. Using it for something other than in fear of your life could land you in trouble.

If I had one of those, I would not advertise it and would not say that I would use it for someone breaking into my car or shed.

I support the right to own guns but think one should be extremely careful about making public comments like this.

That’s one sweet mod Papadan! I have an old single shot 10 ga I’ve been thinking about sawing and stashing somewhere in the upstairs. A sexy new Walnut pistol grip and foregrip would make it even easier to do. Of course, being a single-shot, there won’t be any rubber ball warnings ;-P

Kenny, you would have to put the fore grip on top to control that old 10 !;-)

Exactly why I would need the foregrip!
