Topic tags/keywords: chair folding chair question

I have searched the internet for plans, drawings, or measurements for this type of chair… Although, I did find the above photo online to show what I am looking for exactly... My grandfather made them in the 1960’s by the hundreds for area Fire Departments for their “bingo” or social halls…. I would love to make a few of them for the fun of it, to again follow his woodworking path…

(Not so sure I will build the 4 grandfather clocks at once that he did)

Thanks for any help… CAH

Looks simple enough to re-create those parts. I’ll keep an eye out for plans for you.

Very nice job, It is nice to have a chair that folds up! . I would ask someone here, or a friend who does the drawing and drafting to help out. It would be great if someone who worked with Your Grandfather still had a plan laying around. If He made them for fire stations, would You be able to find a old one and take the deminsions!

Thanks, rebel… I had seen that plan in my prior web searches, but not what I am looking for at this point… trust me… I have searched for this plan for some time now… even tho it is a chair that there are no doubt thousands have been made…

I am now 800 miles from where they were made by my grandfather, so going to measure one is not one of my best options…

I may have to enlist the help of quartersawn to do some measurements for me if I am not able to find anyone with a set of plans..

Thanks all

this is not plans but you can see they have some of the measurements and you can zoom in for a close up look.
