I am looking for a native exotic lumber from the Southwest called, “Texas Ebony”...latin name: Pithecellobium Flexicaule. I am interested in turning blocks as well as dimensional lumber. Anyone know of the stuff and where I might get some? Thanks, Todd

There was some discussion of it awhile back. http://lumberjocks.com/topics/1630 . I am not sure what ever happened to it. Maybe you could give him a holler.

You can get turning blocks at our Woodcraft store here in Houston. Don’t know about dimensional lumber.

Good luck on that search. There is a bit for sale on eBay…

Texas Ebony on eBay

... and I thought getting Bog Oak was difficult.

Here is a web site that carries pictures and info about different woods. It has some info on Texas Ebony.

Try this Lumberjock. He seems to find some where he lives.
