Thank you for all the advice on this project. I think it came out pretty nice. This is 1 of 2. Second one is being stained and finished.

Nice, with the ash bore problem won’t be long till they speak of ash like they do chessnut. good finish

Thank​ you. Ash is very prevalent around here. I try hard to use it as much as possible. I pay very little for it rough cut then plane it myself. It is something I push for a hardwood when people ask.
