Topic tags/keywords: chickens eggs car trucks

I’ve got 4 chickens and they all come to visit me but this one hangs around for hours. Going in around the tools and checking for food. They don’t eat enough sawdust, there is still plenty left.

Then she jumped up on the saw (workbench) and was wandering around up there. She climbed up on a box of steering wheels and the box went flying. I’ve lost three of them (Not to be found as of yet).

She was wandering around the shop and I usually hear her chattering to herself. And then it was quiet. I kept on with my work. About 15 minutes later I went looking for her.

She laid an egg in the shop.

With 4 chickens I usually get 4 eggs a day. After I got this egg and was going to the house I went by the chicken house to get the rest of the eggs and she was sitting on the nest in the chicken house. So this egg must have been from a couple of days ago. It wasn’t warm when I picked it up.

The other hens all lay by the time I let them out in the morning. This one has a different schedule I guess. I always knew one had a different schedule and now I know who.

Seriously? You have a chicken farm in your wood shop… ? How efficient! I was starting to work with milk paint… is there egg paint?

By the way, chicken eggs will last almost forever (10+ weeks) if they are never refrigerated. Sailors are always looking for a farm fresh supply. But then, chicken… it’s whats for dinner…. or as the cows say, eat more chik’n?

It was an enjoyable read…

I love chickens and goats. I don’t have either anymore, but they are fun critters to have.

Great chicken story.
I have three chickens and a guinea hen left from 7 chicks and 3 guineas.
Have had them for about five years now, and they still are laying eggs.
They love to wander around my shop, the only thing I don’t like is the chicken poop on the shop floor.
But I always have sawdust handy to throw down on top of the mess and sweep later. : )
The local fox had one cornered in the shop this morning, the garage door was open.
I shoooed him away, guess it’s that time of year again.
Beautiful cars for a great cause !!
Keep your girls safe….
