Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a quick survey to see what everyone would like to make for the next swap theme. It will also give me an idea of the number of participants who are planning on participating. I will keep the link live for the next 2 weeks and then post the results. Please pm me if you have any questions or concerns.
I'd suggest making it 'knives' instead of 'layout knives'. There was a lot of interest in a general knife swap. Maybe add a mallet/hammer category too?
Lol, I kept it to one vote so people couldn't just keep voting to swing it. I'm sure I'll have some questions for you vets who have ran this in the past
Kidding, I actually voted for something else but I think it would be cool to throw in a random requirement for whatever is chosen … must have hickory somewhere … or has to be minimalist style … or must have a circle … or inlay … must have a cupholder (that's a joke). Just something to add a little twist and push us out of our usual mindset.
I have a crank sharpener in my shop. Leftover from my Son's school days. Glad I still have it. Pencil sharpener swap, I could just imagine the high tech beautiful sharpeners that would come from that swap. They would be amazing!
I dont know how much I would like the pencil sharpener swap. I too have the wall hanging hand crank one in the shop and my kids use it more than I do (even though they have an electric one in the house) ever since I started turning my own drafting pencils for the shop. However, despite what I think, it's not all about me. Carry on!
Thanks again Josh for running this one. I'm not the awesome vet around here but will help when asked. I only served one tour before I was dishonorably discharged.
I voted. How long do the swaps typically run (i.e. when would it finish)? I don't want to sign up for something that'll require shop-time when I'm away on vacation.
