Topic tags/keywords: drill chuck press drill press

I own a ryobi benchtop drill press and I’ve checked the runout on the arbor and it is within 1thousandth of an inch tolerance. As soon as I put the chuck back on it wobbles quite a bit. I haven’t checked it but it’s pretty obvious even by eye. It’s way off. Either it’s just cheap and crappy or it got messed up somewhere along the life of it. Anyways, I want to fix it so I’m looking at a 1/2 jt33 chuck from grizzly but it’s $99. I’m wondering if it is worth it to get this replacement. Another problem is that I really need to use it now and don’t have the money for a new one, but it makes somewhat oblong holes. Any help would be great.
