I have very very limited sketchup skills, mainly because I only use it once every 2 years or so. I downloaded a file for a combination sander project. (links below) All I want to do is explode/break it into it’s component parts and display their measurements so I can duplicate them. I see the great and powerful Sketchup Dave is no longer a member. Can anybody either help me or point me towards something that can? I really have no desire to learn yet another software app. that I know I will rarely use. Plenty of SU for dummies stuff at youtube etc. but nothing addressing that. Keeping Photoshop and Vegas Video in my brain is bad enough.

Seems like a simple task for someone who knows what they’re doin’? Thanks in advance.

My Google drive file link The file is free to download so I’m not pirating it.

The file is not in a group. all you need to do is select the individual piece then use the move tool to pull it out and do with it what you will.

If you check the box in the Layers dialog box for “exploded”, it will display the entire project so you can measure to your heart’s content. Just deselect the other layers so they are hidden.

Good luck.

Yes! Thank you both. Those were the exact 2 skills I needed. LJ’s continues to rock!
