Since my first post concerning a Rockwell TS I bought, I’ve now purchased a CS 113.298842. Got it and a 1hp CS dust collection outfit for $190.00 off of CL. With the Vega fence that came with the Rockwell added to the CS I just bought I figure I might have the makings of a pretty decent saw. It didn’t come with the blade guard/splitter assy. so I thought I should buy an insert and a splitter. I’ve looked on the auction site but figured there were better deals out there. Any supply houses y’all frequently deal with have better deals on ZCI’s and micro jig steel pro’s?

Thanks for your reply! What type of material should I make it from? I don’t have a planer so it would have to be the exact thickness. Does that exclude wood in my situation? I don’t have a band saw or belt sander but I do have a jig saw, a 1/3 sheet hand held finishing sander and plenty of sandpaper :). I would much rather make my own to save money, and am totally open to any and all suggestions, I just need direction. Should I just surf utube or do you have a link to one you prefer?

As for the ZCIs, I did what Tony recommended to you, and made my own: Certainly not the only way or the best way, but they worked for me on my Cman 113 saw. There are several other LJs who’ve posted ZCI projects.

Have your say...
