So I just found Site that talks about this lawsuit against Harbor Freight

Harbor Freight has been accused of incorrectly advertising the “regular price” of items and in turn falsely claiming the amount that you saved on that purchase when that item was “on sale.”

So basically there are 3 ways customers can benefit from this.

Option 1
If you don’t have any proof of purchase from H.F. Anyone can go to This Link and receive a $10 gift card, no purchase necessary.

Option 2
If you have kept all your Harbor Freight receipts, you can choose from 20% cash back (I’m assuming a check) or 30% store credit from all receipts dating back from 4/8/2011

Option 3
If like me and don”t keep your receipts, you can attach credit/ debit card bank statements proving purchase from H.F. Unfortunately if you go this route, you can only choose from 10% cash back or 12% store credit.

So this is definitely a opportunity to not miss. My only concern if you go the bank statement route, what would be the best way to do so. Should I just attach each monthly bank statement that has a H.F. transaction in it and black out other non H.F. transactions? Or is there some way to make a list of all transactions from a particular Store from the past 5 years?

I bank thru Wells Fargo

It aint worth the trouble to submit all the paperwork. The 20% in your #2 is of the money saved not the full receipt amount also. I deleted my notice.

I posted this suit in on the 15th and most of the replies were similar to those above, more trouble than its worth, and it is probably worth more to the lawyers than any of us!

Just found out about this… As far as their advertising I would say they are generous with their “Compare at $xxx.xx” numbers… But all purchases at HF are about the value. Got a basin wrench I used 2 times for cheap… Saved me some money and got the job done. My lathes and band saws? Def not purchased at HF.

On top of that they aren’t stingy with the discounts and coupons, they often give 20% on top of sale prices… so even though I could recover a bit of cash on my purchases over the past 5 years I’m not going to pursue it.

I have noticed in the same flyer there may be multiple prices listed for the same item… I never cared enough to check if it always rang up at the lowest price listed… But be an informed consumer and you’ll be all right.
