Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question I have a Craftsman 27683 combo router with the fixed base and plunge base and I need a larger diameter base plate as the one that came with it is only a little over 1” diameter.

The manual that came with the router says I need I need an accessory pack that contains 6 base plates the model number is 64182 but when I check the website “sears parts direct ” it tells me there not made anymore and that there is no substituting .

Does anyone know if another manufacturer fits the Craftsman routers ??

I really need one as I am getting a Kreg router table in the coming days and need to install the wider diameter base plate

Thanks

Are you talking about the clear poly-carb plate that screws to the bottom of the base? If so, two things:

  • You can easily enlarge the hole with a hole saw and drill press.
  • You don’t need that plate with the Kreg router table. The Kreg mounting plate replaces that piece. So you’ll take that piece off and screw the Kreg plate to the router base.

If I completely missed what you were really asking, just ignore me ;-)

Nope you understood !! I didn’t realise the router gets attached to the Kreg plate

Yep. I don’t have the table but I do have the Kreg plate in my shop-made table. Great plate!

u want something special and custom made reach out to Pat Warner or “routerman”. I had him make a custom plate for a project i needed a wider opening for, and he does outstanding work and reasonable price.

This dude knows precision routing and drilling.
