Looking for ideas for some lightweight yet strong table saw extension wings. I have an old Delta TSC-203 table saw that I recently added a Delta T2 fence system on. I was planning on making the extensions out of 2 layers of MDF but seeing this saw has a stationary motor and the entire top is raised or lowered that would make for a heavy top to lift. Any thought as to a simple solution?

I like the idea of torsion boxes. They’re easy to build and very light.
Go to the LumberJocks search engine at the top of the screen and use the search term “torsion box”. You’ll find some interesting ideas there.
Best regards,
