We all know that there are countless forum topics here covering dust. Everyone has their own method of controlling dust or just their own way of keeping it out of their nose and/or lungs.

So I guess this is “dust” related. Saturday I was working on a project and cut a piece of walnut and thought to myself, “I love that smell”.

So just a friendly poll. What’s your favorite wood smell?

For me it’s a toss up between walnut and padauk. There’s just something about cutting into those, good or bad, that I like the smell of.

Anyone ever rough-machined Pecky Cypress? Get a snootful, you’ll want to retch in the corner somewhere.

I like the aroma of Walnut and cherry, but I learned an important lesson which put me in the hospital.

Inhaling wood dust is toxic. Some woods are more toxic than others, but they all can harm you.

My advice: Use a good quality face mask. You won’t regret it as I did.
