My office is in need of a pretty simple podium that presenters can set their laptops on when doing Power Point presentations. Something like this is what I was thinking, but I can’t see paying almost $300 for something I think I could probably make in a weekend out of a single sheet of plywood.

I looked through the projects but all the podiums I found were either geared towards church use or made out of rustic materials. I was wondering if anyone here has built a simple podium like this. If so, any tips, and did you follow a plan or just make it up as you went along? I think I could probably figure it out from looking at the picture, but free advice is always appreciated.

Steal one from your local church slip the pastor a few bucks to turn a blind eye and make off with it.That’s what I do when I need a podium or new bibles etc .Most Pastors will do this. It’s no difference from dipping their hand in the collection dish.LOL seriously your little click on doesn’t work for me what’s wrong probably my computer.Have fun,Alistair

Make sure you have a hole in the top for power/av cable; otherwise very straight forward plywood and edge banding.

Well I think it’s obvious that the Scotsman’s back!

One of my thoughts would be, will this be used as a dual purpose podium? I have seen them where the top was adjustable for people to use with a laptop or for papers or books. Just a thought.
