A friend of mine purchases storage units at auction, after they fail to pay the rent. He does this sight unseen as they only open the doors and do not let you enter them. A unit he purchased among other things had a 3 Dayton Power tools (2) still in the boxes: 10 inch TS (it looks just like my Craftsman TS 21833) except it only has a 1 1/2 hp motor, a 15 inch band saw and 8 inch jointer. The TS had already been put together. I had never heard of this brand before. I already have at TS and band saw. I thought of purchasing the jointer, as I only have a small table top unit. Is this brand any good?

dayton is sold by Granger you should be able to go to their website to learn more about them, like craftsman they don’t make the tools just have their name on them at least that is the way with the dayton products I have and have sold in the past.

They are either the rolls-royce of tools or the Harbour Freight… I forget which.

They are not the HF and certainly not Rolls – but RKEVINS is dead on. They are OEM label with odd features to meet a given contract. Not bad stuff but not down with Harbor Freight.
