Hi I have to build some cedar sauna benches similar to the image below and am having a hard time figuring out the best way to do the glue up or joinery. Its quite a few benches some up to 38 inches deep so it has to be somewhat time conscious. The best option ive came up with is to glue and screw each spacer on as I build out, but am concerned with long term splitting considering the material and water it will be exposed to. If anyone can point me in a good direction I would greatly appreciate.

Titebond III glue with Festool Dominos accurately laid out and all registered off the same surface.

I believe Sipo Dominos are rated for outside use because water is one of your concerns. Spendy but worth it.
