Hey Gang!

I have been asked by my daughter’s high school to make a project for a fund raising auction.

My initial thoughts are to make a hope chest similar to the project(s) that I made for Christmas gifts last year.
!Click for details!

For the charity donation I had thought of incorporating some laser engravings (school name, mascot, etc) into the lid and panels.

Are their any of my fellow Lumberjocks (with the a Laser engraver) that would be interested in me sending them the raw panels and image files for engraving? Of course I am willing to pay for this service.

This is a project that needs to be done near the end of November.

Thanks for your consideration

I know this might not be the suggestion you’re looking for but I am about to do an experiment with embossing on wood using embossing powder that is used for cards! you can get the materials at michael’s (embossing powder, embossing ink, and heat gun). It apparently has a really nice effect but i know it’s not exactly what you are looking for (although it might be a way to add a nice touch to your engraving since you could emboss gold ro silver, ect into your design)

sorry can’t be of more help.

Hi Trevor,

I just joined the LJ group, and still learning my way around the site. Save my contact info, and I can help you out the next time you have a project.
