I am out of projects. I today, attempted to build my own drill press/drill guide mechanism, so I could get straight holes… that was a flop… I finally gave up. But the good news, is, I have 4 pieces about 34”, relatively unscaved, except a few holes; small. So that would work out fine of legs on something, since I am about 72” tall.

I like to build stuff for use around the shop.. So when I actually begin building stuff with cherry, and such, I dont have to clear a space on the workbench for a tool.

I currently have a workbench, big mother of one too… 4×8… for a 11×24 shop…, a Planer stand, and thats about it.

My current tools are: Mitre Saw, jigsaw, bandsaw, planer, couple drills, corded and -less.

I hope to buy a table saw, when someone makes good on paying me back.. but thats a ways off right now.. but still something to keep in mind when plotting space.

And if someone mentions building a DP… Ill skin ‘em !!!!

I don’t have an idea about what to build, but I do have some ideas about how to get the tools you need. I say buy used at garage sales and If you’re patient you can get some great tools for about a quarter of the new price. A good 1970’s Rockwell table saw (now called Delta) will run you about $100 used while a new one is over $500. I built my whole shop like that in just over a year. Just a thought…

Much ablidged Jim and Jim. I think for this next project, I am going to do a night stand. I started sleeping on a couch over the summer, since I found it more comfortable than the bed… but frankly, I am getting tired of putting my drink at night on either a chair, or occasionally the step ladder..
