Topic tags/keywords: delta 50-840 dust collector used retrofit

Hi all,

I have the opportunity to purchase a used Delta 50-840 for $150 Canadian:

Having never purchased anything Delta before, I did some research and found that this model has been discontinued. I’m wondering if replacement parts are still available or if the newer models have parts that are compatible.

The 50-840 seems to be a reliable DC from other posts on this forum, I just don’t want to be stuck with a unit I can’t fix in the future. Of course I’d like to buy something new with a warranty, but my budget is tight and I need dust collection in my shop ASAP.

Many advance thanks,

Parts are available and if it is too old for Delta then there is a website for parts just Google it looks like a decent buy just make sure it runs :)

I’ve bennusing Delta products for years, and to me, they are some of the best tools you can buy….
At least they were when I bought mine, and have had no major issues with them. I”m not real familiar with
the 50-840, so I can’t tell you anything about it. My d.c is a 50-850 (1200cfms), and has performed good for
about 12-13 years now. It blew a start capicator once years ago, and that’s it….All of my major machines are
Delta, and so far so good on their performance….Like sawblade1 said, check everything out since it’s used…
