Topic tags/keywords: square rosewood refurbishing finishing

Hey everyone,
So I’m finally back from my long absence from this forum, I am working on a black walnut Telecaster and it is going well (I’ve only made 2 mistakes so far, not bad for my first guitar), I’m planning on posting the end results and pics of the process in a few months. Anyway, I recently found this stanley square with a crazy beautiful Brazilian Rosewood handle, it has some paint on it, the finish looks gone, and there’s some thin CA glue on the bottom right corner (I tried to save a small lifting piece of rosewood, but it broke off I was trying to glue it). What do you think, refinish?

I don’t buy for collecting but to use. I would refurb for my own use.

Refinish, add a piece of Black Walnut to patch things. Check it for square. Put it back to use..
