Turning travel mugs--insulation question

I have turned a few of the travel coffee mugs with the stainless steel inserts. My problem is that they don’t seem to keep coffee warm for very long. Have any of y’all had any success with some form of added insulation? There isn’t a lot of room to work with in there.
