Topic tags/keywords: cedar question

Any ideas where to find 5/4×8” x 10 (or any length for that matter) cedar in the metro Detroit area?

I do not have a planer so I can’t use Rough sawn.
Seems like the widest I can find is 6”

Are you talking S4S western red cedar? I have never seen it anywhere. Typical is 2×4 and 2×6 and everything else rough sawn, except for 3/4” stuff. The only 5/4 I’ve seen is decking.

If you can find a lumber yard that sells it rough, you can often pay them extra to size it for you.

Try Cedar USA which is owned and operated by a Forestry Forum member whose username there is Cedarman.

He can supply anything you need and will ship.

Good Luck!
