I just bought a new Incra MDF TS wing that came with no track for fence or whatever. I was planning on using my incra fence but the attachments will not be available for about 6 weeks. I decided to rout in two tracks for a fence, to use until I get the parts I need. Question is, how can I avoid chipping the new top? Should I score it before routing, put tape down, heat it, or just go slow with the router? I’ve not used a router alot, really hardly ever and don’t want to ruin this 150.00 top.

Will the tracks impede the proper working of the attachments once they get there? It may be worth it to wait until the proper tool arrives and go from there.

Wait. Don’t try to second guess the manufacturer.
