I have an older style chuck that I am really not happy with. It takes too long just to set it up. On a Richard Raffan dvd I have he has one that is all enclosed and takes seconds to set up. What would be suggested for a differant chuck?
Thanks for any info.

Hi Cathy..Vimarc..Oneway..Nova..those are # 1’s in my book..I’ve been turning for 20+ yrs…There are new asian chucks out…look at Penn State Industries…Craft Supplies in Utah …check out woodturning in google..you’ll find plenty of chucks

Hi Cathy.
What you ar looking for is a 4 Jaw chucK

If you Google for a 4 way you may not get the results you want.

I agree with Mick.
If you get one good heavy duty chuck the jaws from the better manufacturers will interchange.
You will have to ask when you settle on a brand ( above).

Thanks for the replies. Since I posted this I did some research and the Oneway was what I thought it was. Now I know for sure. It’s a hefty price but I’ve learned that you get what you pay for. Thanks again!
