I’ve never posted here before, and this is probably a lousy way of introducing myself to the community. Before I piss you all off, let me just say, I’m a really good guy. My friends love me, my co workers are happy to work with me, I help my neighbors way more often than you’d imagine, I even tried to donate a kidney once. In short, I’m freaking wonderful and you’d be happy to know me.

With that said, I’ll get to the point of this post. You guys spend WAY too much time talking about the machinery and NOT NEARLY enough time time talking about technique.

Wood working, in general, is a product rich environment. There are products that promise you whatever the hell you want. Got tear out? try this! Can’t get a drawer to line up? Try this! Not sure how to build a thing? Buy this! Whatever your problem might be, there are countless companies willing to sell you magic beans and hollow promises.

Want a review of your latest table saw, or fence system, or miter saw, or hold down clamps, or feather boards, or staining technique? Holy crap! Why the hell are you listening to strangers in the first place? Weren’t you there when you screwed it up the first time? Didn’t you learn anything? Learn how these things work before glomming onto some miracle product and advice from nebulous people on the intertubes who don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground, but they can write a convincing sentence.

You want to spend $2500 on a saw that promises not to cut your fingers off? Learn how to operate a saw without cutting your fingers off. You’re concerned about something that has an accuracy of .003” vs. .002” but you can’t get you measurements right? GFYS.

Buy a tool and learn to use it. Chances are you will never be as accurate as the tool. Chances are, if you’re blaming your tools, you are the tool.

Just a comment from someone who hates people who always try to blame everything but themselves.

Ever considered therapy??

For sure your post shows that you are not great. If you do not like this forum, nobody is forcing you to visit it. You obviously do visit it so your neurons are definitively not in great working order. Time to take your pills :(

No one is great but some are greater than others.

Not really off to a good start.

Are you the only one that is right in your world. You are not giving an opinion but trying to insert your will here to others.

Saying this it seems you are just trolling to get reactions.

godelescher, Hot Damn, I like you already. You’re a man with some common since and enough balls to speak your mind. LJs is a site the gang, if you’re not into old hand tools and their restoration, you’re not welcome. Everything you said in the OP is right on, no lies or exagerations. The first 6 replies above me are haters because your first 50 posts on this site are not attaboys for mediocar projects. Stay cool my friend.

It don’t matter if it’s DKV or anyone else, I’m sure most of the replyers here have already flagged this thread and dear little Cricket will lock it up for you. It’s all good!

Oh, please that’s you. You tried picking fights the past few days and are on track for a record of closed threads ( that you hold as well) and then suddenly this new thread that pretty much only you agree with. Don’t you have a life?

And stop calling out Cricket, she is worth more than all your alter egos put together.
