Howdy LJs… My wife and I are in Bean Town for a few days and when we saw the Thomas Moser show room was close by, we dropped in for a peak, I mean a drool… Or was it an inquiry. For. Those not familiar with TM, they do very high end furniture up in Maine, primarily using Cherry, but has branched out into Walnut and maple as well. They get TOP dollar for their work by marketing it in showrooms located in cities with reputations for big $ (Boston, San Fran, NYC, Philly, DC, etc… )

Her are some pics…

It’s no fun unless you post prices with the pictures.

Glad you are having fun.

Walnut dining table and chairs, about $20K

The sales clerk, Jess, was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I suggested that my wife to take her boots off B4 sitting in the chairs and set her purse on the floor instead of the table and Jess told us not to worry about that. Of course we did anyways.

They employ ~60 craftsmen in Auburn, ME. I’ve driven by the factory and have heard that they both pay and take good care of their people. Their Cherry comes from PA and their Walnut from MO. Each piece is built by one individual craftsman (though I think sanding and finishing are done in batches by others) and is signed upon completion…

I’ve read that the genius off the outfit is TM’s wife (Sue?) who runs the sales and marketing side of the biz.

Here’s a Maloof inspired rocker…

And thus ends my virtual tour. I hope you enjoyed it.
