Topic tags/keywords: question

I had a deck built by a deck-building contractor from March to May. He finished the top decking with the brand PureWood which is beautiful and naturally prepared (no arsenic or chemicals like treated lumber) but then the contractor sanded it and left it for me to stain. I used Sikkens stain—light oak—and it looked good for about 3 weeks and now it is blotchy and streaked. It looks terrible.

I need some help. Is anyone familiar with staining PureWood? I have called the company and they are mystified, but I need to converse and perhaps exchange experiences with someone who has a deck with PureWood brand decking exposed to the elements that is stained and the results.

I am perplexed and need help. Thanks.

I can’t help you with your problem. However, you may have more luck posting on the sister site Home Refurbers. Good Luck

Hello, I am a freelance writer, working on an article about heat treated wood and I would like to talk to you about your Purewood deck. You can google my name, Jefferson Kolle, to see articles I’ve written. Please contact me if you’d like to chat for a few minutes. Thanks. JK
