Does any body know where I can buy some hackbeary, I woud like it with some gray in it ,with some spault. 3 inches or wider and 2 foot or shorter perfered.

Hackberry is a common wood here in Iowa. Many local mills sell it. If you’re willing to drive down to Iowa to the Waterloo – Cedar Rapids area I can suggest a couple of places. Send a PM.

I was going to say the same thing Rich did but I’m in Tulsa OK. Since you do a smaller kind of Artisan Woodworking and that meaning the pieces you may need could be small and shippable, I might be able to find some for you and send your way.

Take a look on Ebay also….I have seen several folks selling spalted hackberry turning blanks….and most of them say that they will custom cut any size that you want. I do not like to turn this wood as it is really likely to check (split) when drying…unless you boil the heck out of it.
