Had a really great day!

My 17 inch GO513X2 Grizzly was delivered this afternoon. And we only screwed up once. LOL! I was planning and anticipating and cleaning up my chaos so I’d have room and space to work on it. Planned to move it off the truck onto my 3/4 ton and negotiate a couple of pallets and my refrigerator dolly.

My friend Marlo kindly offered to help and he was kind of excited about this new toy ah tool.

Normally Murphy is involved in everything I do but he must have got his wires crossed.

The big truck shows up soon after Marlo and we start to prepare. The driver says he has a lift gate and a dolly and he will take it over to the shop! Huh? Marlo and I just made sure it didn’t shift and we got it into the shop under my come a long hoist I’d set up.

This machine has a 2 hp motor, cast iron wheels, a cast iron full extension table and cast iron trunions.

I’d put my GO555 that I’ve owned since 2004 on Craigs List which was in excellent condition and I included my resawing jigs and extensions, as well as 10 band saw blades, and it was being used when sold. The first person to see it was very happy with it.

Thanks for reading!

I needed a new tool deduction for my small woodworking business and I’ve got a bunch of black walnut which needs resawing.

Well I just finishe setting up the saw and doing a practice cut before coming in and deciding to share my “tool time” story or should I say “toy time.”

It took 5 minutes to cut a piece of black walnut that was 8 inches high and a foot long. Good luck with a cnc Randy.

Thanks for checking this out. :<)

Congrats on the new bandsaw Tom. What blade are you using on it for re-sawing, i.e., TPI, blade width, etc.?

Lee,

Thanks for checking in. Different blades for different work. I’m looking at Lenox bimtal blades for the new saw. I had pretty good luck on the old one with them. I bought a TimberWolf blade 3 tpi 3/4 inch that I plan to use on the wood that has been air drying for awhile.

I will also get a 1/4 inch blade and 1/2 inch for curvy cuts. LOL!

Nice new toy, me I am still trying to find somewhere else to put my 14” JET so I can get the bigger lathe from Grizzly in the place I want. Without opening up a wall and making another extension to the shop. Of course winning the lottery or discovering I inherited a ton of money from a rich relative would help alot!!!

Heard that!

I think Norm Abrams took me down the Dark path. My dad taught me how to use hand tools. When I asked if I could use his electric power tools he said”Learn how with the hand tools first, you will make smaller mistakes.” LOL!

Tom, nothing like walking in the shop with a big new tool staring at you. Makes the shop look cleaner too. Haha. Maybe Murphy will be jealous and leave for awhile.
