I took the opportunity to travel to Blue Mountain lake NY to enjoy a weekend in the Adirondacks and to see the Adirondak museum’s furniture show for the first time. I thought the show was primarily “twig” furniture and there was lots of that around for sure. However, the juried stuff was spectacular. Not only that but the makers were happy to talk about their techniques. I strongly suggest those in the region mark this on their calendar for next year.
As a sidebar, there is a large marketplace that is held roadside in the village with a large number of makers and raw materials (slabs, burls, extra wide, etc). Prices were low…
There is also TR (Teddy Roosevelt) days in nearby Newcombe with a great quilting display…
