Where can I purchase one of these Fences??

I’ve installed this fence on a 113 Craftsman TS a few years ago and found it to be an incredible improvement!! I believe I paid $104.00 for the Fence then, today I think they go for $150-$190.00.

I am selling that saw now and need to find a new source for the fence to install on my (new to me) Sawstop Contractor Saw. The fence that SS installs on their base model TS is a joke, the T3 fence runs circle around the standard SS Fence. I’ll consider a used Fence. Please call Pat 513 891 5112

The sawstop standard fence is an accurate fence. You can upgrade the fence for less than you will pay for the T3

The Delta T3 that I installed on my old Craftsman TS transformed the TS into a very nice tool and a real pleasure to use, no more double checking your cuts. I haven’t actually used my “New to Me” Sawstop yet, but it fence doesn’t look like its up to the job. I have a 30 inch Contractor SS with the Standard fence.

You mentioned an upgrade method/option for less than the T3. Please explain. The SS dealer told me that I could install the SS -T Guide fence for around $350.00, the T3 is under $200.00. Is there another option?

Thanks for the reply, Pat

I had a 113 craftsman I put a T2 on and made a good saw out of it. I replace it with the SS contractor saw with standard fence about 3 years ago. The fence is an accurate fence it does stay square. I do wish I had upgraded to the T-glide at the time I purchased it just because it is similar to the T2/T3. At the time of purchase I could get a credit for the standard fence then apply that toward the the upgrade would have been about a $200 difference. i would still like the better fence but can’t really justify it because the standard fence is doing the job.

I tried to mount the T2 on my sawstop none of the holes would line up. Rather than fight it I just went back to standard. The cman with T2 is with my daughter now.

John, I understand, in my case since I bought a used SS I didn’t have a fence option. I was very happy with my Cman, but when I purchased a new Freud Stack Dado set, (which I wanted for year) I ran into the famous Arbor problem. I found the Dado would not cut the bottom of the groove smoothly, so I used this as well as the safety features, as an excuse to buy the SS. The plan is to install the T3, I found one on CL for $150.00, new but never installed. The plan is to replace the SS extension wings with MDF wings, one with a Router Table, the other side just plank. I have half of a 2 car garage to use so I can’t spread out much. I’ll probably remove the Saw from its stand and mount it on top of a Work Station Cabinet, which I did on the Cman saw. I locate me Shop Vac Dust Collection system under the left side and my surface planner under the right side. I will be very satisfied, if the SS, with the T3 fence performs as well has the Cman did, but of course much safer!!
I am curious, why did you switch?

You should be able to recoup some of the cost of the T3 by selling the stock fence. I’d think you’d get somewhere near $75 to $100 for it.

I wanted the safety. I had a small accident on my drill press, just a 1 second oversight. I was aloneand it got me thinking what if that had been the tablesaw.
I have been extremely happy with the sawstop. With the new fence you will definitely be happy with it.

See if the pro head will fit on the rails if so the only difference is 6 inches. The pro fence is 36 Inc cut,

You see the fences pop up on craigslist from time to time. Saw the pro head minus the rails for $100 the other day.

Here’s the http://newhaven.craigslist.org/tls/5896108675.html

The standard contractors fence uses totally different rails from the T2/T3 and T glide fences.

Good to know. I did play with both fences on the sawstop and the pro fence is nicer, heavier and slides nice. The standard fence wasn’t bad it will do the job.

I understand the 36 inch T Guide Fence is available on the Contractor Saw Model. This is the upgrade I want to pursue, assuming I can find a used fence, new that are much more expensive than a T3 fence.

I’ve located a T Guide fence for, wait for it, $150.00!! Hopefully I’ll be able to buy this one. It is may understanding that I will have to increase the table size from the current 30 inches to 36 inches, or cut down the Fence Rails, Problems, Problems. If this happens I’ll be in Hog Heaven.

Have your say...
