I have that same jointer except mine is black. I have gotten some good use from mine. I like to use biscuits to help align parts on a project. It is also an effective method of strengthening a miter joint. I seldom use th fence with mine and instead I register my cuts on the bottom. I don’t trust the fence to align properly.

Get one of your Mom’s large canning jars and lid, to keep the biscuits in- it will help them from absorbing moisture.
