Bedrock 604 Salesman sample
2 Braces with no marks.
Alsp a Union 4 3/8 plane.
Any info on these would be appreciated. Thanks

I’m not a hand tool person, but that plane can be welded.

That plane may well be a saleman’s sample.

I would guess the crack resulted from actual use (for which it was never intended, since the cutaway makes the casting susceptible to cracking)

I have been at this a long time, and have never seen a Bedrock plane such as yours.
I would highly recommend getting in touch with Patrick Leach or Jim Bode, as it may be quite valuable.

Nice haul. I think the value of the salesman was given on Facebook. They typically start around $800. I’ve seen them go for a bit more, but the crack hurts the value substantially.

The Union 4 3/8 is pretty cool. I just lost the bid on one at Browns auction. I’ve got some Union information post on my website if you’re looking for dates.
