After reading positive reviews I decided to gamble $10 on a Harbor Freight moisture meter. Well, after trying two of them I guess I’ll give up as they both read nothing but 0% except across my hand where they read 20%.

Surely I’m smart enough to shove a pair of pins into a piece of wood but maybe not. Has anyone else had good luck with one of these? I don’t expect good accuracy, but I know all my wood isn’t perfectly dry.

Sorry for your luck. I have one that I bought about 5 years ago and it has always worked great. I only use it when buying wood to make sure it is right to start with.

Thanks, maybe I’ll take a piece of wood with me and try another in the store if they’ll let me.

Have your say...
