Josh,

The main reason Chris Schwarz uses SYP in his benches is price. By the time it’s shipped to NSW this price advantage would go away. Find some local wood to use. SYP has no magical properties that make it ideal for benches.

BTW, do you know if there are birth records in your area that go back to 1844?

Thanks ‘lwllms’ I understand that, although i just wanted to know if anyone already sold it already here. If anyone else had any ideas that would be helpful. And sorry i cant help you with the birth records, but will mention it to one of my friends.

You could ask degoose, he lives in Queensland but goes to the Woodworking shows around Oz so he might know of someone.
