LOL No, its a grading that says 80% red on one face and at least 50% red on the opposite side. North Eastern cherry seems to have better color than say Wisconsin or colder climates. 90/ 50 is prime stuff and can go for in the $5 to $8 range depending on grain, etc these are "select or better (you may get a knot on one board) 8/4, 72" X no less than 6" 80/50 in color I have seen it and will get whats left the pile is about waist high and 4' deep stacked I would guess around 1000 BFT plus another pile of 4/4 cherry, 4" - 7" wide 10' + long I think the same price.

I would love to go in…but a trip to CA would be a bit much to ask…LOL….Nice of you to offer to other jocks though…I've been trying out here to get some folks interested in buying some bigger loads of wood out here in CA….I'm tired of paying through the nose for a couple 100 bdft.

I have been talking to a transport that I have used for years (hauls horses) and sometimes comes back with only half a truckload, so said hauling would not be a problem.

Will find out where he is at and if he is that far south, maybe we can work it out yet!

If not, we will need to see some pretty fancy furniture coming out of your shop (if you can move around with all the lumber).

I would think you can get it where you live and one of the local mills? Why would you pay all that shipping. I am building a new bedroom set with 2 night tables, Head board, Foot board with TV lift, then a dresser that you can sit on with shoe storage in the bottom under the draws. Then a dining room set, then a living room set. Yea it will be a while before I am done. I have an order in for quarter sawn white oak as well. I am looking for a building to sell hardwood from as well. http://lumberjocks.com/sandhill/blog/17577

We don't have much in the way of hardwoods in this part of the prairies (we have spruce, fir, pine, birch and poplar), and there are not any local mills where we live.

It's one of the reasons we pay so much more for hardwood lumber.

Well Howie since I am picking up 1200 board feet I will most likely have a good bit for a while so when your ready come and get it.
I am sitting and waiting for a commercial building to turn up . I have a source that if I can get the building I will be getting it by the tractor trailer load. My goal here is to supply hard wood lumber in the south fo reasonable prices, not the 7 - 9 dollars a board foot these suppliers are charging I think its a disgrace what they charge after I have seen what it really costs. Did you know you can buy a load of Maple for less then $1.98 per board foot if you get it by the tractor trailer and that's delivered. Lumber dealers are selling it for double that and 5X that if its milled. I can get maple plywood for $500.00 a pallet.

Well I was really disappointed with the 4/4 cherry that was there, it was all white and very, very little color or grain that I could see so I ended up only getting 500 BFT of the 8/4. I ended up paying a little more because I got lesser quantity but what I got was good stuff. So when any of you are ready just drop me a line to come and pick it up. By the way there is another 2000 BFT feet of this 8/4 but I suspect it will go fast.
