I think this is an older Laguna LT16?

http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/tls/5973240697.html

From what I’ve read most folks seem to have a lot of respect for Laguna and a 16” at this price seems like a good deal. Am I missing anything?

Warm Regards,

Matthew

First, if it runs that is a good deal.

Second, that is an older LT16 which is quite different from the current LT16, it has 9” of resaw vs 16”, 1 1/2hp vs 5hp and Euro guides vs ceramic guides. So just don’t think you are getting a $3500 for the price.

Thanks I was considering picking up a 14” bandsaw in this price range and was trying to stay under $400. I am now seriously considering figuring out if I can make this work. Possibly stupid questions… Given that this is 1.5hp, will it run on 110v? Will this safely break down enough to be moved in a larger SUV?

It may very well be a dual voltage motor but I think the motor was Italian on those and not 100% sure but it may already be wired for 120v, I would ask the seller.

Steel spined saws like that don’t really disassemble much in terms of height. It has been a long time since I have seen one in person but guessing it is about 6’ tall.

Don’t think you’ll get it in an SUV but, rent an open trailer from U-Haul, they cost about 21.00. Don’t wait too long, that saw will go very fast. Have fun, make some dust.

Have your say...
