Topic tags/keywords: jig question tip lathe turning

I am currently making a lathe steady rest for turning hollow forms. My question for you turners out there is what is better 3 wheel or 4 wheels. I have seen several types on the net and even here. I’m using wheels from a pair of rollerblades I just found on the side of the road by somebody’s trashcan. Here’s a link to plans that can be purchased (I am not buying it, just using as an example) http://www.woodprojectsonline.com/store/shop-jigs/lathe_steady_rest.php . I have seen this type made with 3 and 4 wheels so I thought I would see what you guys/gals think. Since I have 8 wheels it doesn’t matter to me. Thank you in advance for your feedback and recommendations.

Daniel

P.S. If pro is opposite of con, does that mean progress is opposite congress? LOL couldn’t help it.

Since a few more on here now I thought I would give this a bump. I am starting this project in the morning.
Thank you again.
