Hey guys. I have found this saw on Craigslist and not a long ways away. Owner can’t find a model number but date on motor is 97 and its 3hp single phase. I’ve got some pics. Can you guys identify it and what do you think it’s value should be?

Looks like an older Grizzly G1023. Appears to be in good shape, right tilt, no warranty, pre-riving knive, no splitter/guard, older style jetlock fence, no mobile base. Has the optional motor cover. The guts are basically a copy of the old Unisaw design. It’d be worth a fence upgrade IMO. ~ $400-$650. Here's the manual

So, would you even consider this if you had been looking at new grizzly saws? I mean if I got it for 500 what is a quality fence going to cost? To make it equivalent to a new 1023rlw, then i still have no splitter or riving knife.

If the price was right, you bet….it’s a nice saw. It’s the older design though….G1023”S”, not like the new G1023RL. It’s actually more similar to the G0690 in design. You could add a BORK riving knife to that saw, or some other aftermarket splitter, or even hunt down a stock blade guard assembly.

The Delta T3 is about $193….great bang for the buck. At one time, they offered that saw as a G1023”Z” that had the Shop Fox Original fence shows it as temporarily out of stock, but is on sale for $125. The new G1023RL comes with the Shop Fox Classic, which is a good Biesemeyer copy…runs ~ $350

- Used Unifence – $250 – http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unifence-Table-Saw-Fence-Unisaw-/122317314229?hash=item1c7aae18b5:g:qxQAAOSwZQRYgPFc

- I’d be looking into the Vega fences too.

You should be able to sell the stock fence for $50-$75 to offset costs.

Since that Grizzly is essentially a clone of the Unisaw, I wonder if the disappearing splitter would work on it… either directly or with a very slight modification (like drilling/tapping a mounting hole).

Cheers,
Brad
